India will be the second part of the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy
Ubisoft has announced that they are finally bringing Assassin’s Creed to India, although not in a form many had hoped. As a part of the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy, AC Chronicles: India stars Arbaaz Mir in the year 1841. The story of the game follows the Sikh Empire, as they prepare for war against the East India Company.
The protagonist must procure a mysterious item from a Master Templar, in order to protect the Assassin Order as well as his friends and loved ones. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy will be a collection of small downloadable games and will be played in 2.5D. The developers have promised to recreate the AC experience and the thrill of being a master assassin in this spin-off series.
India is the second part of the trilogy, as the saga begins with China and ends with Russia. Players will also witness history during the Ming Dynasty’s downfall and the aftermath of the Red October revolution. They will be controlling Shao Jun and NikolaïOrelov for China and Russia respectively. While the three stories may appear separate, they are narratively interconnected. It’s also worth noting that the games will be developed by Climax Studios.
While a mainline Assassin’s Creed game does fit perfectly with an Indian setting, this is as close as we will ever get. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will launch on April 22, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC; followed by India and then Russia before the end of the year.
